  1. I still have the original Ginsu, a hapless low cost design with a variety of serrations that render it impervious to sharpening efforts and make it akin to using a very primitive saw. I was hugely skeptical that Ginsu would put out something with heft and class, but I will say this modestly priced set is just that. First of all the ergonomic handle is very well done. Then the steel itself is good, nicely contoured and substantial. Somebody had the good sense to make the ensemble and the knife holder very eye catching, making the whole thing worthy of care. Kudos to whoever now runs Ginsu.

  2. A great set of knives – no extras that you will seldom use – just those I use nearly every day. I’m impressed with quality and sharpness. They are well balanced and a joy to use.

  3. I have bought knives that cost several times what these cost and seem no different to me. So why not save the money?

  4. I have been looking to purchase knives for weeks now. I’ve been looking at cheap sets and expensive ones. I decided to get this brand only because this is the same brand I purchased 9 years ago and those blades have served me well since then. The only reason I’m purchasing new ones is because the metal cap and rubber gasket at the end of the knives have become worn. These new knives are terrible! I’ve only had them for 2 short weeks and the tips are starting to rust! I beat up that other set of knives for 9 years and they never rusted. 2 weeks with these and I’m pissed! I’m definitely going to return them.

  5. I really liked these knives at first and they worked great. I’ve taken care of them and constantly use the knife blade honing tool that came with the set. However, the knives have become pretty dull in just seven months. One knife in the set would not even cut through pieces of chicken tenders fresh off the skillet.
